Narcotics Analysis
The global drug problem continues to grow with trafficking of meth, cocaine, ecstasy, heroin, and many newly synthesized popular “designer drugs” which are impacting communities worldwide. Law enforcement officials need to quickly identify suspected narcotics in the field to help keep drugs, and drug dealers, off the streets.
A designer drug is a structural or functional analog of a controlled substance that has been designed to mimic the pharmacological effects of the original drug, while avoiding classification as illegal and/or detection in standard drug tests. The StellarCASE-Raman can uniquely identify each new designer drug and save it to library, enabling enforcement officials to quickly recall and identify these new threats in the field.
Gemology and Mineralogy
StellarCASE-Raman Analyzers can be used verify known gemstones as well as identify unknowns using their Raman signatures. Our database of gems and minerals is contantly growing and our easy to use SpectraWiz ID allows customers to add samples to their database to later search for authenticity matches.
Raw Material Identification
Incoming raw materials and chemicals can be verified and checked for correctness as well as adulterants/contaminants. Positive identification and matching – improves quality control on the manufacturing floor, in inventory, and at the shipping dock. Spectral fingerprint libraries are available with industry specific matching capability
Pharmaceuticals
Raman spectroscopy is a valuable tool for quickly inspecting solid, liquid, and powder pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical precursors. The versatility and affordability of modern Raman spectrometers makes them a vital component in most labs and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. Raman spectroscopy fills a crucial role in development, process, and quality control of pharmaceutical products.

SERS & Trace Substance
StellarNet offers high performance & affordable Surface Enhanced Raman (SERS) substrates for use with their line of portable Raman Analyzer Systems. The SERS substrates intensify Raman emission through plasmonic resonance, boosting signal by many orders of magnitude & enabling detection levels as low as parts per trillion for certain samples. SERS is a natural fit for many trace detection applications, from detection of pesticide, explosive, and narcotic residues to applications including anti-counterfeiting, R&D and industrial process control. StellarNet SERS substrates can be used with all of our low cost portable Raman laser systems and similarly equipped microscopes.
Art & Archaeology
Art researchers can use Raman spectroscopy to find solutions to problems with identification, restoration, and dating of ancient artwork and manuscripts. Raman spectroscopy provides art historians with a fast, affordable method to study, and determine if restoration of a piece should be attempted, or if a piece is a forgery.
